Christmas Hamper Appeal 2019
I wonder if any of you, like me, are wondering where the year has gone. Time certainly flies. Mindful of that and of the fact that there are only five weeks of school left this year, it gives me great pleasure to launch our Christmas Hamper Appeal 2019.
As an Anglican Christian School, we are called to love and care for those around us, particularly those who are less fortunate than we are. Each year, the Chaplaincy team has the privilege of delivering amazing Christmas hampers to families who need support at this pressured time of the year. The recipients are always immensely grateful for the generosity of the Peter Moyes community.
We are therefore again seeking your assistance to help those in need within our community. Each class will be asked to bring specified items to contribute to the hampers. In this way, we will be able to provide hampers with a good variety of contents. We will be providing more detailed information to you about this in due course. It is our hope that most families in our community will be able to contribute to the appeal by picking up an extra item when you do your shopping. The final day of collection of donated items will be Wednesday, 4th December 2019. Our students will then sort them into hampers to be delivered to those in need.
We are setting up nativity scenes in the primary school, and at the reception desks in the Middle School, Senior School, and the main Reception in the Admin block. To know what items to contribute, please view the Christmas Appeal Donations List.
This will once again be done in conjunction with our local parish, the Parish of Quinns-Butler.
Your assistance in this is very much appreciated and exemplifies the true meaning of Christmas and of our School’s Christian Ethos.
40 And the king will answer them,
‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family,
you did it to me.’
Matthew 25:40 (NRSV)
God bless
