Ashlin Duffy (Year 11) was lucky to be chosen to attend the Zero2Hero Mental Health Leadership Camp. She shares her reflection of the camp with us:

On the holidays, I was selected to attend a five-day mental health leadership camp with Zero2Hero. It was one of the most life changing experiences and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities provided to me by the organisation.

I learnt how to be a strong, independent leader with the correct values to be capable of helping others. I also achieve an accreditation of Safe Talk suicide prevention so I am able to help those who are struggling with mental health issues. The friendships I formed and the lessons I learnt I will carry with me for the rest of my life.  The main lesson I learnt, was from the CEO Ashlee Harrison who told us, “that to help others we first must help ourselves”.

The experience was so amazing that I am applying to be a volunteer on their October camp, where I highly recommend any students aged 14-18 to apply.
