During Term 1, the Year 8 students were offered the choice of four different House Activities to participate in during Tutorial time. The choices were Debating, Touch Rugby, Basketball and Cheerleading. Many girls decided to give cheerleading a try. Cheerleading was led by our Drama teacher, Mrs Leadon.

Every Wednesday during Tutorial, the cheerleaders went to the Drama room to practise their routines. The girls split up into their different House groups and made a routine which would include a cheer for their House. The routines included a variety of different tricks and dance moves. In the last week of term, the House cheers were performed to the Pre-Primary students. They thoroughly enjoyed the performances and even cheered for an “encore”. The Pre-Primary students were even inspired to try some of the acrobatics and tricks for themselves.

The Year 8 girls had a really fun time coming up with their routines, worked beautifully with their peers and gained a lot of experience performing for the younger year group.
