Our Year 7 Camp in March was one INTERESTING experience as it involved a huge amount of “This is going to be SO exciting!” and “Do we seriously have to clean up our cabin and the huge Dining Room?” I mean, what would you expect from some lazy campers!

The activities at camp were great! There was caving, bike riding, crate stacking, and so much more. My favorite activity on camp was the big swing where everyone in your group needed to use teamwork to pull you up to as high as you wanted then you would drop. The activities at camp helped us learn teamwork because as we learnt on camp nothing can be done by yourself.

Some of the bonus things that we got to do were AWESOME. The first thing we got to do after all the dorms were sorted and people had finished having dibs on top bunks, we got to do some fun activities like dodge ball and tug of war! We also did challenging challenges, for example you had to get over a “river”, which really was the floor, with only limited rugs and 20 people, with some REALLY complicated and restricted rules! We made it through after the third attempt!

PARTY TIME! As the teachers are just so kind to let us have a crazy disco and not go to bed nice and early. After everyone was forced to take a nice refreshing shower, and dressed up in some funky clothes, we hit the dance floor! The music was great and some of the dancing was intense, hilarious and imaginative. Some of the best parts were in the exhilarating games like limbo with some surprising winners and real statues in the almighty game musical statues.

The last day of camp when everyone is nice and grumpy it is the perfect occasion to wake up extra early and clean the disastrous cabins, I mean they were so bad that one cabin had vegemite all around someone’s BED! Tired and nicely bruised, we all struggled getting onto the bus, as we headed off home to our long, hot showers and comfy beds!
