On Wednesday 16th November, Middle School welcomed the new Year 7 2017 students to their Transition Day. New students started the day a little apprehensively, although their nerves seemed to be mixed with some excitement!
Students were allocated into six groups for the day and after a short test, it was a day of fun doing a variety of different activities. Some students found themselves melting chocolate to decorate biscuits and then enjoyed eating their wares in the Cooking room; some made a letter rack in the Woodworking workshop and all had another look around the School with the ‘Amazing PMACS Race’. Two Science Labs were the focus of much problem solving, group work and fun with various different activities including making a lava lamp, static ghosts and blowing up a balloon filled with hydrogen!
Buying from the Café was also another highlight from the day, as was meeting new friends and getting to know some teachers and the two Team Leaders who will be working with the students in Middle School. We look forward to welcoming these students to the Middle School in 2017.
