The re-scheduled Inter-House Cross Country was conducted in Week 9, Term 2. With completion of the School Chapel, ‘Heartbreak Hill’ was back in the course meaning a challenging and tough 3km course to complete!
We were fortunate for the entire week with favourable weather each day and the students fully embraced the modified version of the Inter-House Cross Country with enthusiasm shown to complete the course with the first five finishes per House contributing to the Year Group, Sub- School Shields and Overall Cross Country Cup results. There were some superb individual performances and it was a tightly contested amongst the Houses with excellent efforts and participation rates of all students involved, with a bonus sausage sizzle for all students who completed the course within the cut-off time.
Louie Oakes (Year 11) set the fastest time of the week in 10m05s with Aidan Arthy (Year 9) finishing in10m59s. The fastest time amongst the girls was Leola Hall in 12m46s closely followed by Beth Kilgallon (Year 7) in 12m48s.
It was a pity there was no SSWA or ACC Inter-School Cross Country this year as we would have no doubt compiled a superb Squad once again which would have been challenging for the Overall Championship, so we look forward to this in 2021.
I would like to say thank you to the Health and Physical Education Department for their efforts and support, all staff involved and finally the students!
