On Monday 13th March, the Year 6 students departed for a three-day adventure to Point Walter Camp. All of Year 6 started off with Ice-Breaker activities, where we got to know each other a little bit more than we already did. The afternoon was filled with Team Building Games followed by delicious ice-cream! Our free time that afternoon revolved around handball, cricket, volleyball and basketball which was run by the teachers and parents. Fun for everyone!! That day was Mia and Piper’s birthday, so we sang to them after a delicious lasagne. That night we all gathered in the Conference Room for a movie. The Parent Trap was the film we voted for to finish the day. To the disappointment of those wanting an all-night party, it was lights out at 9:30pm. Those students who tried to prolong their all-night party regretted it when Mr Senior announced that we were to do Morning Fitness before breakfast.

Day Two was the most exciting as we challenged ourselves physically and mentally, putting ourselves outside our comfort zones. That morning, as promised by Mr Senior, we were up early for a gruelling morning fitness session. We were happy when it was over and somehow Mr Senior’s group won (not too sure about his scoring). That day our group activities included Flying Fox, High Ropes, Archery, Biking, Rafting and Pool Activities. Over the day we came face to face with our fears, some of us conquering them first time and others needing a bit of encouragement from our group to complete the challenges. After 3 sessions we were all tired, but we were looking forward to a tasty chicken dinner. The highlight of the evening was the amazing ‘Talent Quest’. Our three guest judges, which included the mean ‘Mr Meanior’, and our hosts Amber and Mr Patel, put on a great show for us. The students performed various acts which involved yoga, opera singing, crazy jumper dancing and magic acts. The winners, with an amazing duet, were Rebecca Milne and Brady Janson. Everyone loved them. After it was straight to bed, everyone was tired, so the teachers were very happy!

On Day Three, we completed our last two activities and packed up our dorms. After saying our thankyous, it was time to board the bus and go home. We had a brilliant time and loved spending lots of time with our friends, we would certainly go back if we could! Year 6 Camp rocks!!
