On Wednesday 28th February 2018, all of the Year 4 students travelled to Fairbridge Village in Pinjarra for three days of Year 4 Camp.
We tested our resilience in many adventure activities, including rock climbing, archery, the giant swing, the leap of faith and the flying fox. We also had to work together using problem-solving skills in the ‘Race the clock’ activity. Thankfully, at the end of each busy day we had a dip in the pool to cool off.
Below are some quotes from Year 4 students about their Camp experience:
- “The best lunch at camp was when you could make your own roll with salad in it. I really enjoyed my roll and it was delicious. “ – Amani Vujicic
- “My favourite parts about Camp were the giant swing, flying fox and the LEAP OF FAITH because they were all super exciting.”– Jayden Williamson
- “My favourite activity at Camp was the giant swing because it was so fun! You had to catch a teddy bear that other kids threw at you." – Katelyn Paizes
- “My favourite activity was the flying fox, even though it was slow. It was so much fun!” – Charlize Haddad
- “I liked the Dining Hall because l just started to like curry and it was the best food I've ever tasted in my life. I also loved the hash browns, eggs and bacon. I wish l was still at camp!” – Jayden Freind
The students showed great courage and positivity by giving the activities a go, especially if they were not fond of heights! The staff members at Fairbridge Camp also commented on how supportive, friendly and polite the Peter Moyes ACS students were.
We would like to thank all of the parent volunteers for their tireless help.
