As a final project last year in Year 11 Ellen Betts, Peter Pearson and Kane Sayers combined cooking, photography, art, environmental issues and Indonesian to write and publish a children’s story starring Budi, the Primary School toy orangutan.
In the story, Budi is an orangutan with behavioural problems who gets into a great deal of trouble during his day at school. From falling asleep in maths and dreaming of becoming a pirate to throwing pisang goreng (fried bananas) at his teacher, Budi’s day is full of mischief and mayhem.
Written in Indonesian and beautifully illustrated with photographs taken around the School, Petualangan Budi di Sekolah is a charming story for primary age children and early learners of Indonesian. It is available for purchase at the following link with proceeds going to support The Orang Utan Project. To arrange autographed copies by our illustrious authors, please contact Pak Davis.
