On Thursday 18th May, Holly-ann Martin came in to speak to the Year 10 students. Holly-ann is a professional motivational speaker who shares her knowledge on safety for children, especially about bullying. The boys and girls participated in the incursion separately, however both watched the film Tagged, and Holly-ann would often pause the film to explain the effect that the characters’ mistakes caused their peers. Holly-ann explained what the consequences would be in the film and in today’s society. She talked us through what to do if we were ever in the situations that occurred in the film.

Holly-ann told us what to do, if we come across cyber-bullying or if we are cyber-bullied. I think that everyone feels a bit more confident about talking  we were ever a victim of cyber-bully. She also showed us how easy it was to call the ‘Kid’s Helpline’. Holly-ann gave the helpline a call and walked us through what to do, what to expect and asked the helpline questions about them that assured us that we were perfectly safe to give them a call and that there is nothing to be nervous about.

A big thank you to the wonderful Holly-ann Martin.
