On Friday 17th August, 20 of our students from Year 6 to Year 12 attended the Flag Hoisting Ceremony to commemorate the 73rd Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at the Consulate in Adelaide Terrace. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Consul-General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Dewi Gustina Tobing for specifically addressing PMACS students during the ceremony for our participation and commitment to Indonesian language. This was also reported on Indonesian National Television, TVRI (equivalent to the ABC).

Our students were also privileged to watch a musical performance with the traditional Indonesian instrument ‘Angklung’ and join in the cake cutting ceremony as one of our Year 6 students Krystal happened to be celebrating her birthday on the same day.

After attending the official ceremony and touring the Consulate, the students travelled to the Batavia Corner Restaurant in Victoria Park for a traditional Indonesian lunch, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
