Congratulations to all students who competed at the SSWA Cross-Country Carnival on 19th May. Their effort and performance cannot be faulted, and I can truly say that our ACC Squad values of ‘Hardwork, Dedication & Ambition’ were exhibited by all students. The commitment to training by the squad has been exceptional and I am truly proud of all members of the Squad. All students competed to their best which is all we can ask for over a course that is very challenging.
As a School we finished third in the State with some fine age group performances. A number of individual students received letters of invitation to the School Sports WA State Cross Country Squad. Congratulations to the following students:
- Sophie McCorkindale
- Keir Liddell
- Louie Oakes
- Samuel Holroyd
- Mia Lockwood
All individual placings and times are posted on the SSWA Website.
Following the SSWA Cross Country Carnival, the ‘Final ACC Cross Country Squad’ was selected to put us in a position to hopefully attain a Top 3 Overall Aggregate and therefore maintain our ranking amongst the Top 3 Cross Country Schools at the ACC Carnival whilst being in very high contention for the Overall Championship! The Squad photograph and photographs from the day can be viewed at the online gallery.
I sincerely hope that all students, especially those who did not quite make the Final ACC Squad, have felt they have benefited from the training, whether it be purely an improvement in personal fitness, a development of self-confidence, or a strengthening of friendships and sense of camaraderie.
