On Wednesday evening, 17th May, the School hosted our annual Rock Show featuring our own rock bands and guest bands from other schools. This year we had 9 PMACS rock bands who were joined by bands from St James’ Anglican School, Swan Valley Anglican Community School and St George’s Anglican Grammar School. In addition, staff from the different schools came together to play two more songs and jammed another as we made our way home. All in all the night featured 15 bands and 23 songs.
The concert was well organised, running less than two hours thanks to the superb teamwork of the staff and students from the schools led superbly by Aaron Graham, our maestro guitar teacher from Peter Moyes and St James’. It was a great family occasion as the front rows of seats were removed allowing a space for the students and younger children to dance and play as the rock music brought many smiles and applause from the excellent crowd of over 300 including mostly family and friends.
It really was an excellent night. Not only the music, but the incredible stage setting designed by Andrew Frankish, our Auditorium Manager and Performing Arts tech wiz, made for an amazingly colourful backdrop and Auditorium. The clean, not too loud, sound mix highlighted the quality of the sound technology available in the Auditorium. Many thanks to teachers, friends, families and performers. Bravo!
