Congratulations to Year 11 student Lauren Bowen who will represent Western Australia at the National Schools Constitutional Convention in 2017. Lauren will attend Canberra in early March 2017 for a four-day convention held at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, which will focus on Indigenous Australians and the Constitution. During the Convention, Lauren will have the opportunity to visit Parliament House, converse with her local Federal member and meet the Governor General.

Lauren and eight of her classmates attended the States Constitutional Convention in September 2016, where her keen political knowledge and insightful commentary on Human Rights issues was noticed by the Constitutional Centre’s staff. From a pool of over two hundred Politics and Law students from across the state, Lauren was selected as one of only fifteen representatives for the State.

We wish Lauren all the very best and warmly congratulate her on her selection.
