Last Friday, on 10th November, the School conducted a Remembrance Day Service on the eve of Remembrance Day. Students from Year 1 to 10 gathered on the Northern Oval for the service. The School observed a minute’s silence at 11:00am to remember those who have died in conflicts around the world.
Next year marks the centenary of the ending of World War One on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Tragically, the annual commemoration of Armistice Day is not a tribute to only those who died in the “war to end all wars”, but to the conflicts that followed and those that continue to plague the world.
Once again, the School was proud to support the red poppy charity appeal to support the Quinns Sub-Branch of the Returned Services League.
