The Peter Moyes Primary School students competed in the 2018 State Cross Country Carnival on Friday 10th August. As always, it was a huge event with over 1700 students competing from many different schools. After a number of technical issues caused an error in calculation of the overall results I am very pleased to announce that the school was contacted by School Sports WA to confirm that Peter Moyes ACS were crowned as the overall champion school for 2018.
This is quite a remarkable achievement and the students should be extremely proud of their performance. In the individual categories, the Y6 Boys were champions and the Girls team placed second. This was a fantastic end to the cross country season. I would like to congratulate all the runners on the commitment and dedication they showed to training as well as for their performance on the day. I would also like to thank all the parents who supported the event, in particular Mrs Curtis, Mr Curtis and Mrs Joyce for their assistance with training. A special thank you to Mrs Goosen for all her help with the running sessions throughout the year.
