Who has had the biggest impact on Science? How can we make our houses eco-friendly? What are some solutions to the plastic problem?
These are some of the questions that students considered when PMACS celebrated Science Week during week 5 of this term. The theme for this year was ‘Game Changers and Change Makers’ so there was a focus on innovation in Science. Individual competitions, house tutorial quizzes and Science class activities were run during the week, ending with a lunch-time Science Fair on the Thursday.
During Middle School and Senior School lunches, there was food for sale, paper aeroplane competitions, magicians from Global Magic Shop dazzling students with card tricks, and explosive science demonstrations. We also sold our entries to the bake-off competition, including Christelle Robbetze’s (Yr 10) ‘Periodic Table of Cupcakes’ (all 118 elements!) and Jade Ivankovitch’s (Year 8) science and anatomy themed cupcakes. It was a fun event for all, and money raised went to ‘Buy a Bale’ to support drought affected farmers.
Well done to our competition winners who all scored their own Peter Moyes Lab Coat – Christelle, Jade, Ellie Hall (Year 10) and Jessica Khosrowabadi (Year 10).
