On Friday 9th June, nearly 600 Primary School students dressed up as pirates to raise money for research into childhood cancer. Classrooms were buzzing with excitement and many hearty pirate ‘arrr’s’ were heard throughout the day. Students also participated in pirate themed activities in their classes.
Pirate Day Friday is a national initiative to raise funds for medical research into finding a cure and improving treatment for children with brain cancer. Funds raised are donated to The Kids’ Cancer Project and The Adventurers. With a number of families from the School community affected by cancer, the School is particularly committed to helping support this important research.
Thank you to students, staff and parents for embracing this charity event. Together we raised $837.60 for charity.
