The School were crowned NIPSSA Athletics Champions 2017 last week for the first time in the history of the School. The students performed superbly, leading the competition for the entire two days and finishing comfortably ahead of the other schools.

The carnival took place at McGillivray Oval on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October. The students had trained extremely hard in the build up to this competition, in some cases training four or five times a week, practising for their different events. The Day 1 events included the running of the 800m and 400m alongside the Long Jump, Turbo Javelin and Shot Put. The 200m, 100m, Relays and Team Games all took place on Day 2.

The students should be congratulated on the sportsmanship and determination that they showed over the two days. Their hard work and commitment certainly paid off. Well done to everyone involved!
