In Pre-Primary this term, the children have taken us on a journey into the world of living creatures.  It all started with a few boys discovering a slug on the playground.  We then began exploring the world of mini beasts looking at snails, bees, ants etc. We finally settled in the world of insects.

We soon discovered that "bugs" were everywhere we looked. The children surprised us all by making a link to Protective Behaviours, specifically to RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  One little boy summed it up so beautifully; "All living things have a right to feel safe, the only difference is they are really small".

Our insect inquiry has taken many directions.  We have explored, investigated, created and above all learnt together. We have pulled it all together with a lap book and last week enjoyed a great incursion from ‘Spineless Wonders’.

Fleur brought along a great array of insects, but Macro the giant Cockroach was by far our favourite.
