Year 12 Valedictory week is a special time to remember and for this year’s Graduating Class it was no exception. On Thursday 20th October, to mark the culmination of their journey through Peter Moyes Anglican Community School, the Year 12 Students participated in a tree planting ceremony on the School’s northern boundary.
Immediately following the tree planting, there was a final farewell and Chapel Service where each member of the Graduating Class received an individually inscribed bible and candle. Upon exiting from Chapel, the Year 12 students walked through a Guard of Honour as a fitting send-off from their fellow Senior School students.
On Friday 21st October, the students enjoyed a wonderful breakfast prepared by the staff, followed by the delivery of their final Senior School Assembly, organised and presented by the Leavers Prefects Phoebe Harold, Hannah Macdonald and Caitlin Young. The Assembly was presented by all of the Graduating Class and was full of memories, skits, staff appreciation awards and video presentations.
Later that evening, the official Valedictory Ceremony was held in the Allan Shaw Centre. Students were presented with a package including Graduation Certificates and the Leavers Video. The students had final House Group photograph on stage in front of parents, staff and the Official Party, including invited guests.
A special thank you to all staff involved for their contributions and a fond farewell to the Graduating Class of 2016.
