On Thursday 29th March, just before the Easter weekend, close to 1000 students from the Upper Primary and Middle and Senior Sub-Schools came together for a special Easter Chapel Service. In attendance were students from Years 5 and 6, and 8 to 12, along with staff, parents and members of the Parish of St. Cecilia’s.
Those in attendance were treated to a modern, engaging and lively service with a deep message about the joy of Easter. Along with important Bible readings and prayers there were powerful performances including a Liturgical dance, “Forever – Bethel” performed by our student dancers and a dramatised skit performed by Year 8 students, Maddie Redhead, Chloe Northmore and Kat Northall.
Reverend Dave Deeny, School Chaplain, captured the audience with his Homily, during which he painted a canvas using black paint to share the Easter message and affirm that God is with all of us during the dark times and the good.
Special musical items included “Glorious Day” by Passion performed by the Year 8 Band and Atidaisheh, “The Miracle” performed by the Primary School Choir and concluding the Service was the Staff Band who performed “Happy Day – The Greatest Day in History”.
Thank you to the Chaplaincy Team for planning a wonderful Service and well done to the students, staff, parents and members of the Parish of St. Cecilia’s who were involved in delivering the special Service.
