The Associated & Catholic Colleges (ACC) is the largest school sporting association in Australia, encompassing a catchment of over 75 schools and 48,000 students. The highest accolade that an ACC student may win is the prestigious ‘ACC Letters Award’. Any student who receives this recognition of achievement has earned the respect and praise of their sporting peers and school community.
To qualify and receive an ACC Letters Award, athletes must first earn the right to receive such recognition which means they have ‘paid’ for the ACC Letters with time, effort, sweat and sacrifice. The Award represents long hard days of practice and gruelling contests. It represents loyalty and the unselfish faithfulness of each student while in pursuit of a definite goal. It recalls cherished memories of experiences with coaches and teachers who worked, drilled and planned daily to help develop the ability they possess, those who taught them, the power of dreams and how to make them a reality. It represents each individual event, specific opponents and the strategic moments of every contest.
Last and far from least, the ACC Letters Award is recognition from the School and the ACC, of outstanding sporting achievement. The Letters reflect the purposes and values of the School and the ACC. As a proud recipient of something that every student admires, the ACC Letters remind athletes to live their life in a manner reflecting the ideals and spirit of the School. ACC Letters should be a perpetual spring of inspiration and provide long lasting and cherished memories of achievement and enjoyment in sporting participation.
Caitlin Chase has been named in the ACC Honorary All Stars Athletics Team over four consecutive years, which is an exceptional achievement, thereby qualifying her for the ACC Letters Award. Caitlin’s commitment to the School’s ACC Athletics Squad has been exemplary in all aspects, often named as Captain and leading by example both on and off the track. Under pressure, Caitlin qualified in her last individual race for the School at this year’s ACC ‘A’ Division Athletics Carnival. She came first in the Division I 100m and was the 2nd fasted overall girl across every single division.
Caitlin is a deserving recipient of the ACC Letters Award which was presented to her at the recent Year 12 Graduation Valedictory Evening. Congratulations and well done to Caitlin on her outstanding achievements and contributions to sport through her time at Peter Moyes ACS.
