Congratulations to all student athletes and coaches who were involved in the ACC ‘A’ Division Athletics Carnival at the conclusion of Term 3. We are immensely proud of the School’s outstanding result in only our second year competing in this Division.

The Squad showed great persistence and resilience, continually turning thirds into seconds and fourths into thirds. Such efforts were critical to our success. I can confidently say that our Athletics Squad values of ‘Dedication, Hardwork & Ambition’ were clearly evident with notable sportsmanship exhibited amongst our competitors!

All Squad members, including the Reserves who had to replace athletes who were unwell at the last minute, displayed great endeavour. The School was placed 4th Overall in ‘A’ Division, once again eclipsing a number of Schools who have been in this Division for some time. Notably, this result was also attained with the smallest School population in this Division showing we are a truly are a force to be reckoned with as was also shown with our 3rd Overall placing at ACC Cross Country this year!

The ‘Virtual Carnival’ results have been released which combine the results of the 69 ACC Schools, representing over 48,000 students. The School ranked fourth overall, remaining amongst the Top 5 Co-Educational Schools in Perth for Athletics with a number of students in contention for Sports Colours, Sports Honours and ACC Letters. A number of students went on to compete at the WA All Schools Athletics Championships last weekend.

Every single student, whether they competed in one or five individual events or were a  member of a relay team or were a travelling reserve who was called upon or who were  acting as a Student Marshall or Sports Leader were integral parts of the Squad and shared equal importance in the Squad’s success.

Should you son or daughter wish to continue with Athletics during the Summer Season, please look to become involved with the Ridgewood Little Athletics Centre who are currently taking registrations for the forthcoming Summer Season:

For the moment, let us celebrate another memorable day!

Full and final results can be found at the ACC Webpage: http://www.accsport.asn.au/carnivals/athletics/results/2016

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents who are assisted on the day.

Without volunteer assistance these events would not be able to run successfully and your help and support is was very much appreciated. I would also like to add a special thanks to both Mr. Oakes (Discus) and Mr. Smith (High Jump) who have regularly assisted coaching our student athletes over the course of Term 3. Louise Rao also assisted with our Long Jump coaching from Ridgewood Little Athletics Centre.

Thank you to Mr. Hall, Mr. Fussell, Mr. Watkins, Mr. Hollingsworth, Mr. Hawkes, Miss. Oxley, Mr. Carr and Mrs. Briggs who attended the day and coached the students.
