On the night of Saturday 20th August, a group of 13 students attended the 40 Hour Famine Sleepover. This was held to help support those who were giving up food and other things we often take for granted living in Australia. We did this to put ourselves in the shoes of people that can’t afford basic essentials and are living in poverty, so we can understand their situation while raising money to do something about it.

During the sleepover, we played multiple games such as Duck Duck Goose, Charades, Wink Murderer as well as karaoke on the Xbox 360 to keep us distracted from our rumbling tummies. On the Sunday morning to celebrate our success and finally give in to the urgings of our stomachs, we took a walk down to McDonalds and broke our fast with an unhealthy, but greatly appreciated breakfast!

So far we have raised $844.10 for our 40 Hour Famine efforts. If you would like to donate, please follow the prompts at: https://40hf2016.everydayhero.com/au/peter-moyes
