Developed by the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) and the National Australia Bank, $20 Boss is an in-school challenge, run by teachers, which provides your students $20 of start-up money to create their own business. At the end of the programme, students pay back the start-up money, with a $1 legacy payment. Students were engaged in an immersive experience at School which developed their entrepreneurial spirit.
At the end of Term Two the Year 11 and 12 Certificate II in Business students created the following businesses;
A Milkshake Shop, Coffee Shop, Convenience Store, Fairy Bread Stand, Sweet Shop, Sausage Sizzle Stand, and sold Peter Moyes Ski Trip Beanies.
The enthusiasm from the students was excellent and over $500 in profit was made after paying back the start-up money and $1 legacy payment.
Each student received a participation certificate and the School presented two awards:
- Highest profit by an individual: Marwa Mostamandi - Fairy Bread Stand
- Highest profit by a group: Niamh McCaffrey Nichols, Patrick Khosrowabadi, Tallas Williams - Milkshake Shop
Congratulations to all students that participated.
